WHAT WE DO

In every drumbeat, every dance step, and every song passed down through generations, there lives a story—of identity, of strength, of belonging. At Zoobu Yili, we know that culture is more than tradition; it is medicine for the soul, a path toward healing, and a powerful tool for transformation.

As we walk this path together, we’ve come to recognize a deep need: a space where our programs can take root and flourish. A place where young people feel safe to express, to learn, and to grow—not just intellectually, but emotionally, creatively, and spiritually.

This is why we are building the Zoobu Yili Training Center—a home for the heart of our mission.

The Training Center will be more than just walls and rooms. It will be a living, breathing space where:

  • Daily rhythms of drumming, dancing, singing, and storytelling reconnect individuals to their cultural roots.
  • Education and mentorship open doors to knowledge, creativity, and self-discovery.
  • Emotional and mental well-being are nurtured through art, connection, and community.
  • Global exchange becomes possible—where local traditions meet the world and are celebrated by all.

Here, every voice will matter. Every individual will have the chance to be seen, heard, and supported.

What We Creating

To bring this vision to life, we are taking it step by step.

  • Securing the Land: A welcoming and accessible space that will become the heart of our work.
  • Building the Foundation: we will create:
    • A large open space for training, festivals, and community gatherings
    • Classrooms for creative and life skills learning
    • An office to coordinate and guide our efforts
    • A small exhibition shop to showcase local art
    • Clean, accessible washrooms for comfort and dignity

Equipping the spaces: From traditional drums and costumes to educational materials and sound systems—every item will help us offer the highest quality experience to our participants.

Why It Matters

This center is more than a project—it’s a promise.

A promise to protect what is sacred.

To uplift the next generation.

To provide a space where healing, identity, and hope can flourish.

In a world where many young people are searching for belonging, this center will be a home. A sanctuary. A place where they can rediscover who they are and who they can become
