Yoga Teacher || Body-oriented Psychotherapist || Sound Healer || Speech Therapist
Passionate about rhythm, dance, movement, and their healing power.
From a young age, Anske was always very active, discovering early on that dance and movement were among her most important forms of expression.
After completing her studies in speech and audiological sciences, and gaining valuable experience in the field, she felt an undeniable pull toward Africa. In 2007, she answered this call and moved to Ghana, where she quickly immersed herself in the vibrant culture of traditional dance. She trained daily with the dance troupe at the National Cultural Center in Tamale, and the experience of dancing alongside a tight-knit community helped her break free from her introversion and allowed long-held emotions to shift and release.
Her travels across Asia for 2.5 years further inspired her, as she explored other movement practices, including Yoga, Butoh dance, Acroyoga, and Thai massage.
As she continued her journey, the connection between movement, dance, and healing—on physical, emotional, and mental levels—became ever clearer.
In Belgium and Europe, Anske deepened her knowledge of healing through various courses, including Holistic Children’s Yoga, Theater Therapy, Shamanic Healing Practices, Sound Healing, Focusing, Mindfulness and Psychodrama.
Seeking to enhance her understanding of deeper psychological and emotional issues, she embarked on a four-year training in Integrative Psychotherapy in 2021.
In 2023, Anske returned to Ghana after a long absence. It was a profoundly moving and reconnecting experience, a true homecoming. With a wealth of knowledge gained over the years, she reconnected with the Ghanaian rhythms and dances, which led to her thesis: How can Ghanaian dance and movement help individuals heal from trauma?
Anske is passionate about leveraging her expertise and experiences to support the Zoobu Yili Foundation in creating a space where individuals can build stronger self-confidence, self-worth, and self-awareness. She is deeply committed to inspiring children, youth, and adults to become more attuned to their unique qualities, talents, needs, and emotions. With a strong focus on bridging cultures and fostering enriching exchanges, Anske aims to cultivate an environment where mutual growth and healing can flourish.
